On the same wavelength as Faustino.
This letter reaches us from Saint-Germain (France), and on the sender line one can read: Admiral François de P. It is a very moving letter, written by a person of faith, a true Christian.
Providence allowed me to read the wonderful little book Perhaps God Will Speak to Me, which describes the spiritual journey of this boy, Faustino, who on earth was almost my contemporary...
This reading touched me deeply within; Faustino’s reflections are, after all, very simple and brief. But when a soul in contact with God speaks to us, our own soul inevitably begins to vibrate, as though trying to come into unison, to tune in to the same wavelength... why not?
Faustino’s testimony moved me all the more because I recently lived through (in 1994 and 1995), through the illness that took my wife, the same kind of trial as that of the Pérez-Manglano family.
God invited my wife to accept her sufferings, then to offer them, and she came to understand the good that other souls could draw from her sufferings offered up—sufferings that became more and more terrible, which morphine could scarcely relieve, injection after injection, just as Faustino also recounts. And in reading his book I relived many moments spent with my children around the bedside of this wife of mine and mother of them.
Infinite thanks for having written this book, thank you for having placed Faustino on our path, for a single encounter, even a brief one, with this beautiful Christian soul is enough to set us once again on the right path, to encourage us to offer all the little sufferings we have; in short, to confirm us in Faith, Hope, and Charity. What happiness!
Other testimonies
From Argentina: Providentially, a couple of months ago a holy card of Faustino came into my hands. Since then, I have entrusted myself to him. (...) I am 27 years old and I am at a very special moment in my life. I feel that the Lord is calling me to give my life in His service and, with the help of a priest, I am discerning." (A. R.)
From Cuba: "Thank you very much for the three books about little Faustino, as we have begun to call him here. They are helping me in my missionary work with the elderly to whom I bring the Lord, with the children in catechism, and with the parishioners. (...)" (J. P. N.)
From Belgium: "I heard about Faustino at a Cub Scouts camp. The chaplain spoke to us about him (...) I am a religion teacher. I organize a weekend retreat for children and teenagers, and I remembered Faustino. I obtained Perhaps God Will Speak to Me. Reading it, I felt the urge to make him known more and more." (M. J., Brussels)
From San Luis (Argentina): I am a religious sister of the Mater Dei Institute (...). Faustino has given new and fresh impulses to my spiritual life, and that in itself is a grace received, since a month before renewing my vows, I had asked for it. And the Lord, admirable in His saints, wants and asks more of me, and so He keeps telling me and showing me." (P. S.)
From France: "Dear Faustino, you have restored hope to my heart. Help me to follow you along the same path of suffering and joy that was yours, the same path as Jesus and Mary (...). Thank you for having written that book (...)." (C. B., Eysines)
